Finding freedom in the flow
I believe yoga is for everyone- no matter where you're from, how old your are, or what you and your body have been through. I teach in a way that provokes thought and meaning, interweaving stories, sanskrit, poetry, and philosophy. Sound alignment and mindful transitions are key to a lifetime of practice, and I also incorporate various therapeutic and qi-gong movements to address the demands of modern life.
With a background in Vinyasa, I am an especially passionate practitioner and teacher of Gentle, Yin, and Restorative Yoga. I feel the current Western focus on high-intensity activities ignores our biological need for balance, rest, and repair.
I received my 200-hr Holistic Yoga Flow certification under Lauren Eckstrom and Travis Eliot, and I am near completion of my 500-hrs certification. I've also studied yoga for self regulation and trauma, and pranayama from the lineage of Baba Hari Dass.
As a former corporate warrior, I have a passion for wellness in the workplace. I very much understand the physical and emotional pressures today's peak performers face, and tailor my classes to both address these effects, and inspire and renew.
